Select People Solutions is assisting our construction client as they search for a Commercial Construction Estimator. You will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with commercial construction projects and ensuring that projects are completed within budgetary constraints while meeting high-quality standards. Compensation & Hours: 
  • The rate of pay will be determined based on experience
  • This is a full-time, permanent position
 
Position Summary: 
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for potential projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications
  • Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and establish strong working relationships
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering throughout the estimation process
  • Utilize industry-standard estimation software tools to streamline the estimation process
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project estimates and cost control
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and communication related to projects
 
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • 3+ years with proven experience as a Commercial Estimator within the construction industry
  • Solid understanding of different bid processes, contract delivery methods, and overall construction sequence 
  • Proficiency in construction estimation software
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to conceptualize estimates without drawings or specifications
 
Bonus Points For: 
  • Post Secondary Education in engineering, construction, or related field
