Job Description
Our client is seeking reliable, motivated, hardworking, semi-skilled construction labourers for a long-term contract job within Lethbridge County. As a semi-skilled laborer, you will assist skilled tradespeople in various construction tasks to ensure the successful completion of a commercial project. Compensation & Hours:
- The rate of pay will be starting at $22/hr. based on experience
- Monday – Friday days with potential of overtime and mandatory Saturday shifts
Position Summary:
- Assist in the preparation and cleanup of construction site,
- Tasks may include: setting up barriers, assembling and dismantling temporary structures and scaffolding as needed, digging trenches, cleaning debris, and ensuring the site is free from hazards
- Collaborate closely with trades people and project managers to ensure projects are completed within specific timelines
- Load and unload heavy construction materials and move them to the appropriate locations on the construction site
- Operate and care for construction tools and equipment, as well as conducting regular inspections to ensure all are in good condition and be able to identify and report and malfunctions or defects
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others on the construction site
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Class 5 driver’s license with reliable vehicle
- Previous experience on a construction site with strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and procedures
- Proven reliability, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow within the construction industry
- Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
Bonus Points For:
- Apprenticing in carpentry or ironworking
- Valid CSTS 20 and First-Aid Certifications
