Job Description

Select is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee and manage crews working in canola fields. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams and working in agricultural settings. The Field Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently, and that all tasks are completed according to the requests of our clients. In addition, the Field Supervisor will be responsible for quality control and client communication.

Compensation & Hours: 
  • The rate of pay will be $22 - $25 depending on experience. 
  • Must be available between May 15th – August 15th (expected) 
  • Preference given to candidates located in Bow Island, Taber, Vauxhall, and area
 
Position Summary: 
  • Lead and manage a crew of workers in canola fields
  • Ensure that all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Assign tasks to crew members and ensure that all tasks are completed according to the project schedule
  • Ensure that all crew members are properly trained and have the necessary safety equipment
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and agronomists to ensure that all work is completed to their satisfaction
  • Monitor crew performance and provide feedback to improve work quality
  • Implement quality control procedures and ensure that all work meets established standards
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • Interest in leadership or in agricultural settings
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Strong Problem solving skills
  • Superior time management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in outdoor environments
 
Bonus Points: 
  • Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring role
