Compensation & Hours: 
  • The expected salary is $75-$85K/year dependent on experience
  • Monday-Friday
  • This role is located on site (Lethbridge, AB) and cannot be completed remotely
 
Position Summary: 
  • Oversee AR, AP, and inventory processing—ensuring accurate and timely transactions
  • Produce month-end consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements, providing key insights
  • Maintain budgets, complete reconciliations, subledgers, intercompany accounts, and ensure accurate reporting
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards while working in collaboration with senior management team
  • Prepare for external audits and develop process documentation
  • Manage the chart of accounts, including updates for new business lines and product expansions
  • Oversee cash management, daily reporting, and government filings 
  • Actively contribute to ERP implementation and financial process improvements
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • 3+ years experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or Accounting Technician
  • Post Secondary Education in Accounting or Business Finance
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to mentor/develop a team
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain financial reporting to all skill levels
  • Must have your own, reliable transportation
 
Bonus Points For: 
  • CPA Designation
  • Experience with Great Plains software
  • Agriculture or manufacturing industry experience
  • Lean Manufacturing experience/training
  • Experience managing budgets and reports for a company handling international shipments
