Job Description

Compensation & Hours: 
  • The rate of pay will be $18 - $21/hr. 
  • Casual, on-call as needed, hours will vary 
 
Position Summary: 
  • Prepare personal and small business tax returns accurately and in compliance with Canadian and Alberta tax laws
  • Strong communication skills—clients love it when you explain things simply!
  • Answer questions and provide guidance—think of yourself as a tax superhero!
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and make personalized recommendations
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws to provide the best advice
  • Experience in tax preparation (bonus points for fun tax facts!)
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in preparing tax returns, with a strong understanding of Alberta’s tax regulations
  • 1+ years’ experience with electronic tax filing
  • Technologically proficient and experienced with tax preparation, accounting, spreadsheet, and e-signature software
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Flexible availability, especially during peak tax season (January through April)
 
Bonus Points For: 
  • Experience using Taxprep, Intuit ProConnect Tax, Lacerte, Pro Series, or UFile.
  • Certified Tax Preparer (CTP) certification or other relevant accounting/bookkeeping education.
