Job Description

Our agricultural client is looking for a detail-oriented Lab Technician who takes ownership of their space; someone who keeps the lab running smoothly, isn't afraid to ask for what they need, and double-checks results to ensure everything adds up.

Compensation & Hours: 
  • The rate of pay will be $18 - $22/hr. 
  • This is a fulltime, temporary position with potential for permanency 
  • Monday – Friday, day shift 
 
Position Summary: 
  • Driving lab excellence by questioning results and seeking clarity 
  • Managing lab operations (equipment ensuring cleanliness, organization, safety, correct calibrations, and stocked inventory)
  • Conducting tests to ensure food products meet established standards such as consistency, purity, and size 
  • Recording data accurately
  • Collecting samples of materials for analysis 
  • Communicating analytical data to supervisors 
  • Preparing solutions and reagents 
  • Handling and storing chemicals safely
  • Following lab procedures closely 
  • Testing new products or experimental processes 
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • Confident communicator who speaks up when resources / changes are needed, or when there is a need to stop the line because of a potential defect or safety issue 
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • A keen eye for detail; ability to see what’s missing, what’s changed, or what didn’t happen
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Commitment to quality, efficiency, accuracy, and safety 
  • Basic lab experience
 
Bonus Points For: 
  • Post-secondary education; Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Agriculture, Microbiology, or related
