Job Description

Our client is looking for a Journeyman Millwright to keep plant equipment in top condition. You’ll handle essential repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure smooth, reliable production in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
 
Please note: This location is outside Lethbridge limits. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.

Compensation & Hours: 
  • Pay Rate: $49.15 (plus shift premiums)
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts; must be available for days, nights, weekends, and holidays

     
Position Summary: 
  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform regular maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs to keep machinery running smoothly and prevent downtime
  • Part Replacement: Replace parts like belts, chains, motors, and pumps. Manage inventory for critical parts and recommend upgrades as needed
  • Welding & Cutting: Use tools like acetylene torches, arc welders, and plasma cutters to weld and cut various metals for equipment repairs
  • Safety: Maintain a clean work area, follow safety guidelines, and apply lockout/tag-out procedures for a safe work environment
  • Team Collaboration: Work with supervisors and other team members to prioritize tasks and resolve equipment issues. Communicate with operators and departments for smooth production
  • Documentation: Record maintenance tasks, repairs, and submit reports to management about equipment status and recurring issues
  • Training Support: Help train new team members on safety and maintenance practices
  • Facility Upkeep: Conduct building repairs and maintain a well-organized workspace
 
Qualifications: 
  • Certification: Journeyman Millwright
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and fix equipment issues efficiently
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong communication skills; able to read safety documents, write reports, and collaborate effectively
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Experienced in heavy-duty equipment repair, including welding and metal cutting
  • Safety Knowledge: Familiar with lockout/tag-out and safety procedures
  • Math Skills: Basic understanding of algebra and geometry to calculate measurements accurately during equipment setup and repairs
  • Physical Ability: Able to handle the physical demands of the role, including working around machinery and noise
Bonus Points For: 
  • Manufacturing background, especially in food safety
