Job Description

Select is seeking a Lead Hand to oversee and manage crews working in canola fields. The ideal candidate will have experience leading teams and working in agricultural settings. The Lead Hand will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently, and that all tasks are completed according to the requests of. In addition, the Lead Hand will be responsible for quality control and client communication.

Compensation & Hours: 
  • The rate of pay will be $22-25 and additional bonuses
 
Position Summary: 
  • Lead and manage a crew of workers in canola fields
  • Ensure that all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Assign tasks to crew members and ensure that all tasks are completed according to the project schedule
  • Ensure that all crew members are properly trained and have the necessary safety equipment
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and agronomists to ensure that all work is completed to their satisfaction
  • Monitor crew performance and provide feedback to improve work quality
  • Implement quality control procedures and ensure that all work meets established standards
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and ensure that all work is carried out accordingly
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • Interest in leadership or in agricultural settings
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work long hours and in outdoor environments
  • Ability to motivate others
