Select is excited to be working with Lethbridge Curling Club in their recruitment for a dynamic, community-focused General Manager. The successful candidate will lead a thriving curling facility in Lethbridge. This is a unique opportunity to steer the strategic direction of a well-loved club while preserving its deep-rooted traditions and enhancing its role in the broader community.
 
The Lethbridge Curling Club was established in 1886, making it one of Alberta’s earliest organized curling clubs. In 2012, the LCC evolved into a much larger, more sophisticated facility, making them one of the largest curling centers in Canada. Throughout its history, the LCC has been an integral gathering place for curlers and fans alike, fostering connection, sportsmanship and a shared love of the game. From frozen ponds to a state-of-the art facility, the Lethbridge Curling Club continues to build provincial and national success, enhancing Lethbridge’s rich curling legacy.

Compensation & Hours: 
  • $80,000 - $90,000
  • Extended hours during the peak season, including evenings and weekends 
  • Full-time, year-round role
  • Flexible and reduced hours during the summer months
 
Position Summary: 
  • Lead strategic planning with the Board of Directors
  • Manage operations, finances, staff, and facility upkeep
  • Oversee all programming, leagues, rentals, and events
  • Supervise food & beverage and ice maintenance teams
  • Build partnerships and promote community engagement
  • Ensure exceptional member experience and service
  • Manage volunteers during events across a variety of operational needs
  • Coordinate event promotions, community newsletters, and media releases to engage members and the broader community 
 
Required Qualifications: 
  • 5-7 years of progressive management experience in sports, recreation, hospitality or related. 
  • Experience managing multi-department operations
  • Proven success in budget and financial oversight
  • Strong background in hospitality, recreation, or club leadership
  • Knowledge of curling and/or sport-based community organizations
  • Available for flexible work hours including events and weekends
 
Bonus Points For: 
  • Familiarity with Smart Serve, First Aid/CPR
  • Experience in club-level marketing and promotions
