CFO

Select is assisting our client to find their next Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership to support business growth, innovation, and efficiency. They will ensure compliance, uphold high standards, act as a trusted advisor to the senior management team, and foster a collaborative environment with the accounting team.

Hours:
•    Monday-Friday, Business hours
•    Based in-office in Lethbridge, AB

Position Summary:
•    Lead the accounting team by empowering staff, encouraging growth, and fostering innovation
•    Collaborate closely with the senior management team to design, implement, and monitor financial initiatives driving operations and growth
•    Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of reconciliations, billings, financial statements
•    Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
•    Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
•    Develop, refine, and implement financial controls, policies, and principles to streamline operations, mitigate risks, and enhance efficiency
•    Prepare, monitor, and review annual budgets to provide accurate forecasting
•    Complete closing activities, including coordination with auditors, preparation of documentation, and adherence to deadlines

Required Qualifications:
•    5+ years of experience in a leadership role with a track record of influencing decision-making at the executive level
•    Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related
•    Professional Accounting designation: CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent
•    5+ years of knowledge in corporate finance, accounting principles, financial modeling, and risk management
•    Proven leadership skills, including experience overseeing a team of direct reports
•    Strong understanding of taxation, compliance and regulatory requirements
